Anna Maria "Nina" Sacco

Anna Maria "Nina" Sacco, 94, entered peacefully into eternal rest, surrounded by family, on Friday April 14, 2023 at her home in Milton, NY. Born in Little Italy, Manhattan, on December 6, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John B. and Angelina (Donno) DeGiorgio. Anna lived in the Bronx, NY, and worked with her parents in their family seafood restaurant and store until she met and married her beloved husband, Lawrence (Larry) Sacco of Marlboro, NY. Anna and her husband, Larry, co-owned and operated Sunset Pool & Cottages, in Marlboro, NY, for many years. She was a devoted wife who cherished their 51 years of marriage until his death in 2008. She was a compassionate caregiver for her family. She was always more concerned with the needs of others than with her own. She is predeceased by her brothers, Vito and Rocco DeGiorgio. Anna is survived by her four children: Anita and her husband Michael Gross of Mt. Pleasant, MI; Angela and her husband Bruce Friedman of Monroe, CT; Maria and her husband Dominick Lofaro of Milton, NY; and Vito Sacco and his girlfriend Vicki Groat of Stuyvesant, NY; eleven grandchildren: Vanessa Gross; Michelle and her husband Benjamin Cox; Lawrence Gross; Paul Friedman and his wife, Amanda; Marc Friedman; John Friedman and his fiancé Bianca D'Agostino; Christopher, Nina and Nickolas Lofaro, Julianna and her husband Ryan McNally and Andrew Sacco; four great-grandchildren: James & Leo Cox; Anna Friedman; and Ava McNally, as well as two sisters-in-law and brother-in-law; nieces and nephews. Anna will be remembered by those who loved her as a devoted wife and mother, and a kind, welcoming friend. She created a home always filled with love, good food, cheer, music, and hospitality. It was in her home that she established her legacy. Family was her highest priority. In fact, many visits and phone calls ended with her saying, "Stay connected!", a motto she lived by. Calling hours will be Thursday April 20 from 11:00 am -1:00 pm at the DiDonato Funeral Home 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro, NY 12542. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home at 1:00pm with Fr. John Antony officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Marlboro, NY.
