Francis A. Alonge 88, of Hudson, died Thursday February 4, 2016 at Columbia Memorial Hospital. Born in Hudson on March 25, 1927, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Caterina (Trafficante) Alonge. Francis was a Veteran of WWII, and served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre in Okinawa Japan. He was a salesman for National Shoes in Hudson along with his brother Tony, and retired in 1990. He was married to the love of his life Anna S. (Scalera) Alonge on May 6, 1951, she pre-deceased him on September 26, 2009. Survivors include his brother Guy and (Dorothea) Alonge of Troy, one sister Teresa and (Frank) Tanzillo of Tucson, AZ, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers: Charles, Vincent and Anthony, as well as 5 sisters: Udienza, Lillian, Vincenza, Sarah and Marguerite. Calling hours will be on Tuesday February 9, 2016 from (6-8)PM at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home 700 Town Hall Drive Hudson, NY. Funeral services will be on Wednesday 11:00AM at the funeral home with his niece The Rev. Katherine Alonge-Coons officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Cedar Park Cemetery.
