Jaclyn S. Abatecola Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jaclyn S. Abatecola, 34, of Clifton Park and formerly of Hudson, NY, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NYC, surrounded by her family, following a courageous and inspirational battle with Leukemia. Jaclyn was born in Hudson, NY, on September 24, 1981 and was the daughter of Richard and Terez (Hajdu) Abatecola. Jaclyn was a 1999 graduate of Hudson High School and earned a degree in Mathematics from Marist University and an MBA from the College of Saint Rose. She was a Financial Analyst with Crown Castle International Corp. of Clifton Park. where she sincerely loved and enjoyed working for 2 years. She also was President of the Richard & Terez Abatecola Foundation where she spear-headed the support of numerous community initiatives. All who have known Jackie describe her as being the most energetic and brightest light in every room. Be it a couple of minutes or a lifetime, she left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her laugh and smile were beyond infectious. In addition to her loving parents, Jaclyn will be greatly missed by her Fiancé, Mike Ziegler, her sister Christie and (brother-in-law, Matt) Bacchioni of Huntington, NY. Calling hours will be on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 4-8pm at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home (700 Town Hall Drive Hudson, NY). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Church / Holy Trinity Parish (429 E. Allen St. Hudson, NY) with a burial to follow in Cedar Park Cemetery.
