Kathryn C. McDonald Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Kathryn Celia McDonald, 93 lifelong resident of Hudson, passed away peacefully on Thursday February 23, 2016 at her home in Greenport. Born in Hudson on April 12, 1923, she was the daughter of the late James and Florence (Hiscox) McDonald. Kathryn was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy and then Albany Business College. She was a supervisor for many years with Aetna Insurance Co. in Hudson and later in Albany, NY. She was a devoted and faithful member of Holy Trinity Parish in Hudson and was active for many years with the church Christian Service Commitee. She was a Life Member of the Columbia Memorial Hospital Ladies Aux., and was the first one voted Citizen of the year by the Hudson Rotary Club in 2006. Kathryn organized the first local Ostomy Club patient support group and of her many activities, she most loved her church as well as traveling. She will be greatly missed by her brother and sister-in-law Andrew and (Judy) McDonald of Hudson, nieces: Jennifer Beckett of Hudson, Maryann Younsi of Saratoga Springs as well as many cousins. She was pre-deceased by one sister Dorothy Sandagato Calling hours will be Sunday February 26, from (3-6) PM at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home 700 Town Hall Drive Hudson. Vigil prayers will be offered Sunday evening at 5 pm. Funeral services will begin Monday 10:15 at the funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 11:00 at Holy Trinity Parish/ St. Mary's Church 429 East Allen St. Hudson.
