Lucille C. "Lucy" Kappel Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lucille Catherine Kappel 92, of Hudson, and longtime resident, died peacefully at her home on Friday June 10, 2016 with her loving family at her side. Born in Manhattan, NY on May 15, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Domenico and Theresa (Dorsa) Fodera. Lucy was pre-deceased by her beloved husband William John Kappel, Jr. on September 29, 1992. She was the former owner of Muellers Grocery Store in Hudson and was a member of Holy Trinity Parish in Hudson, member and past president of the former Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Sodality, Life member of the Catholic Daughters and she loved the Casino and playing cards. She will be greatly missed by her loving family including sons: William and (Rachael) Kappel, Thomas and (Cheryl) Kappel, Dominick Kappel, daughters: Dorothy Kappel and Janice and (Tom) Brodowski, grandchildren: Deborah and (Dylan) Davis, Denise Rundberg, Jonathan and (Katie) Brodowski, Nancy Brodowski-Zincio, Adam Welsh and his girlfriend Rachael, John Kappel, William Kappel, 3 step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was also pre-deceased by her son John A. Kappel in 1975, and grandson Thomas J. Kappel in 1997. Calling hours will be on Monday June 13, 2016 (4-7)PM at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti funeral home 700 Town Hall Drive Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday June 14, 2016 at Holy Trinity Parish 429 E. Allen St. Hudson with Fr. Winston Bath officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery.
