Margaret E. Cordato Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Margaret Elizabeth Cordato, 91, of Valatie, NY died Monday, January 20, at Barnwell Nursing Home. She was born April 9, 1922 in Hudson, NY and she was the daughter of Emmarancia (Toth) and John Pulver. Margaret was a 45-year member and past President of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Post #1314 of Hudson. She was a volunteer at the RSVP Retirement Program, the Edith Casey Stocking Fund, Columbia County Office of the Aging, Columbia County Courthouse and the Hudson Train Station. Margaret was employed at Bausch and Lomb Manufacturing, Hudson Candy Factory, Register-Star and Columbia Memorial Hospital. Margaret was the beloved mother of seven children. She is survived by four sons: Sammie and Joseph Ringer of Wisconsin, Joseph Cordato Jr. of Churchtown and James Cordato of Florida; two daughters: Tina Cordato Poetzsch of North Chatham and Sharon Cordato Levandowski of Arizona, one sister Mary (Pulver) Barringer of Hudson; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Joseph W. Cordato, her daughter Jean Patricia Ringer and two brothers, Joseph and John Pulver. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 23, from 11 am to 1pm at the Sacco-McDonald-Valenti Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Hudson, with funeral services immediately following. The family would like to extend their sincerest heartfelt appreciation to all the staff at Barnwell Nursing Home.
