William J. Craft Jr.

William J. Craft, Jr, 74, of Claverack, died peacefully at home in the company of his family on Thursday, June 24, 2021. Born in Hudson on August 17, 1946, he was the son of the late William J. Craft Sr. and Evelyn E. (Decker) Craft. Following high school, Bill served Honorably in the United States Air Force from 1965-1968 including a tour in Viet-Nam. After many years, he retired from the Columbia County Facilities Department. Bill was a member of the Hudson Elks #787, member of the Church of St. Joseph, Stottville and an avid golfer. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Helene C. (Sacco) Craft, son Christy and wife Rita, daughter-in-law Sue Tiano, sister Denise Craft Valvano and her husband Dan, as well as step-brother John Craft, step-sisters: Cheryl, Amy and Amanda. He is also survived by grandsons: Ryan, Shawn, Christy and Drew. He was predeceased by his son Ralph in 2020. Calling hours for close friends and family will be at the Sacco Funeral Home 700 Town Hall Drive Hudson on Monday, June 28 from 9:00-10:30. A Mass of Christian burial will follow and will be celebrated at St Joseph Catholic Church Stottville at 11:00 with Fr. Frank O’Connor officiating. Following cremation his ashes will be buried 11:30am on Tuesday August 3, 2021 in Cedar Park Cemetery Section 21H along the Newman Road section. U.S. Air Force will present Honors.
