Harold W. Harvey Jr.

Harold William Harvey Jr., 85, a lifelong Hudson resident, was called to eternal rest at Columbia Memorial Hospital on August 17, 2022. Born April 5, 1937, in Hudson Falls, NY, he was the son of Harold William and Beatrice May (Snyder) Harvey. Harold was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Stottville, and St. Mary’s, Hudson. He was most known for his ability to make you a friend, whether it was the first time he met you or had known you for years. He always went out of his way to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Harold served in the U.S Marine Corps. He was a retired truck driver, teamster local 294. In retirement, Harold worked for many years for the City of Hudson though his love was his last position of driving the City Bus where he never met a stranger. He was a lifetime member of the Phoenix Hose, Company #5, City of Hudson Fire Department as well as the Hudson Elks Lodge #787. Harold’s love and pride of his city allowed for him to serve as an Alderman for the City of Hudson. Harold’s greatest pride was his family. He is pre-deceased by 3 sisters, Harriet Moore of Bossier, LA, Shirley Ann Weeks of Augusta, GA and Lillian Riddey of Lake City, Fl. and half sister Mary Tite of Scotia, NY. He is survived by his 3 children, Deborah Halloran, Elizabeth (Terrance) Keeler, Mark (Michelle) Harvey, grandchildren, Shawn (Kasey) Higgins and Patrick Halloran, Jonathan (Jessica) Keeler, and Nathaniel, Tyler, Devan, and Connor Harvey; and great-grandchildren, Ryan and Olivia Keeler, and Blake Harvey. He also is survived by many nieces and nephews, including a special niece Barbra Juliano, along with great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00pm Tuesday at Sacco Funeral Home on Town Hall Drive, Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Mary’s / Holy Trinity Parish 10:0am on Wednesday August 24, 2022. Interment in the family plot will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery Hudson NY.
