Sacco Funeral Home has a long and proud history of serving the Hudson and Columbia County communities. Established in 1917 as McDonald Funeral Home, we have been dedicated to providing compassionate burial and cremation services to families in the area for over a century. In 2008, we expanded by merging with Valenti & Richards Funeral Home and incorporating the James N. Johnson Funeral Home. Today, we continue our legacy under the name Sacco Funeral Home, offering personalized and professional funeral services that meet the unique needs of our community and the changing business environment.
Current Opportunities

New York State Licensed Funeral Director
Currently, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced New York State licensed Funeral Director who is or can be Incorporated. This is a flexible role with both short-term and long-term contract options, where remuneration can be tailored to suit the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
Qualifications:
- Licensed NYS Funeral Director
- Possess a valid NYS Driver’s License

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and knowledge in funeral service along with the ability to handle all tasks and responsibilities relative to the profession. We value a candidate who is compassionate, enthusiastic and possess a keen attention to detail.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate core values of Funeral Service Excellence
- Maintain a positive work environment
- Accept on-call status as required
- Coordinate service arrangements and pre-arrangements. Thorough knowledge of the NYS EDRS system, initiation of necessary processes, submit all forms completed, order services and merchandise. Must routinely communicate clearly and efficiently with accurate detail
- Willingly perform job duties as needed, assigned, or directed
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of Embalming, Restoration, Cosmetology, and final presentation of remains
Essential Physical Responsibilities:
- Possess the ability to lift, carry, push and pull as situation dictates
- This position will require performing a wide variety of functions from a sedentary position to those requiring heavy physical effort on routine daily tasks
